Hakata Ippudo @ The Garden's Mall

Koni'chiwa

Was abit relax and also hazy during the past few weeks.. Stayed home alot..
Since I'm out for the day & also in the Midvalley area and Nic was thinking & suggested to go for Ippudo for lunch..

Ippudo the garden's mall is the 2nd outlet in malaysia for this restaurant and it shows signs of popularity with the restaurant which is slightly smaller compared to their pavilion outlet has a never ending line of people queuing up for their delicious bowl of ramen which is also addictive!

After waiting and spotting a large board that showcase their promotion which offers 1 bowl of ramen with 1 side order or dessert & also a glass of green tea at a price of RM29.90++ which to me is quite reasonable for lunch and satisfying .. Not to forget that it is valid from 11am-3pm & only on weekdays..

Current Promotion
After much deliberation & consideration of which to try as everything looks interesting & delicious! The service staff is very polite, efficient and fast.. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant being lively with the staff greeting the patrons with welcome & Thank you in Japanese..
Back to food! Well for lunch, Nic ordered a Karake-Men ramen with Sake Mentai rice for side order..
Karake-Men
Karake-Men is made with the restaurant's original tonkotsu broth with some spicy miso, cashew nuts & ground pork.. The broth is well made, delicious and packed with flavour which compliment well with the hard noodle texture..
Sake Mentai Rice
Next, came the side order of the Sake Mentai Rice.. The bowl consists of scrambled egg, broiled salmon with rice and also nori (seaweed).. Usually this sort of concoction is seen in the sushi form but in Ippudo it was served this way which is rather a unique and deconstructed way of the sushi but without the addition of the egg..

After having a first bite of it, I really like so much with the mentai was made to the texture of it being as smooth as silk and really compliments well with the rice and egg.. Yummy! A must try side dish

                                       Akamaru Shinaji
The warmth from the bowl of Akamaru Shinaji arrived shortly & I'm super excited to get my chopsticks in to slurp their noodles and delicious and full bodied broth! This bowl certainly hasn't disappoint me in their noodle texture and also their passion, love & time in creating this flavour packed broth which has a hint of garlic and miso that gives it some salty and also the broth is an enhanced version of the tonkatsu broth with some delicious pork slice which has 3 layers (Ah! Love the good stuff).. Additional thing is that this bowl of goodness & love has an interesting balance of spicy and non-spicy which present you with a bowl of ramen with the flavour profiles that offers you the best of both worlds! I was super happy with the bowl of ramen that I was seen focusing or mostly concentrating on eating and enjoying this bowl of goodness & love..

After drinking the last spoonful of that amazing broth from that Akamaru Shinaji, Nic immediately called for the dessert course to be presented.. Actually, it is my first time of trying yuzu in a dessert manner as I had experienced it in the dressing form of a salad.. So am pretty excited on the outcome of it..

Yuzu Sorbet with Nata De Coco
And I could assure you that it is the best thing I had every tasted.. The moment it came, it looks alot like vanilla sorbet but after having the first spoonful, it was literally packed with citrus notes and there were some candied lemon peel that serves as a texture purpose for the dessert and it really was a great compliment for the yuzu which was tangy being paired with the candied lemon peel that gives it some sourish taste.. Well done Ippudo!

Verdict: Both the ramen, sake mentai & yuzu sorbet  are superbly delicious & well done! A must try for all their dishes! Hopefully this offer still remains
